Couchpad for iPhone, Mac and Windows
Couchpad turns your iPhone into a trackpad and keyboard for your own computer.
What it collects
Nothing. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no servers. It does not collect, store or transmit personal data, and the developer receives no information from it.
How it uses your network
The iPhone app looks for the Couchpad desktop app on your local Wi-Fi using Bonjour, and sends your touches and keystrokes directly to that computer. This traffic goes straight from the phone to the computer, encrypted; there is no Couchpad server. If you connect the two through a VPN you have set up yourself, the traffic travels inside that VPN and is subject to its provider's policy, still encrypted end to end by Couchpad. The iPhone app asks for Local Network permission to find the computer and uses it for nothing else.
Camera
The iPhone app asks for camera access only when you choose to scan the pairing QR code shown on your computer. The camera is used for nothing else and no images are stored.
What it stores on your devices
The desktop app keeps a random token for each iPhone you have paired, so you only enter the pairing code once; the iPhone keeps the matching token and the computer's address. Your settings (pointer speed and so on) are stored on the iPhone. You can remove tokens at any time with Forget Paired iPhones on the computer or Forget this computer on the iPhone, and uninstalling either app removes everything it stored.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date.
